Thymalin is a low-molecular-weight polypeptide fraction extracted from the thymus of young calves, developed by Khavinson and colleagues at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It is a defined-process but undefined-composition mixture rather than a single molecule, so batch-to-batch composition can vary. It is a research/investigational immunomodulator, not an FDA-approved drug. Note: some products labeled "Thymalin" are actually thymulin (a different, defined nonapeptide) — check the COA.
Regulatory status: Not FDA-approved and has no US drug approval as of 2026. It has been used clinically in Russia and the former USSR as an immunomodulator, but elsewhere it is sold only as a research chemical. As an undefined biological extract it corresponds to no single approved chemical entity.
