Anyone can call themselves "trusted." Here's exactly what our Verified badge means, and what it doesn't.
What we check
A vendor earns Verified when its published data holds up to scrutiny:
What Verified does not mean
- It is not a health or safety endorsement. Everything listed here is for research use only.
- It is not for sale. Vendors cannot buy a Verified badge, a higher rating, or a better rank. Placement in paid sections is always clearly labeled as sponsored and kept separate from ratings.
Why we keep the two separate
The moment rankings can be bought, the reviews stop meaning anything — and then the whole directory is worthless to you. So we run two walls: an editorial layer (ratings and verification, never for sale) and a clearly labeled sponsorship layer. The badge only stays valuable if it's honest.
If a Verified vendor's data ever stops checking out, the badge comes off — see Scam Watch. That's the whole point.
